Meet Jennifer
Jennifer spent several years working for nonprofit horse sanctuaries — other people's places, other people's horses, the same long days.
Then she bought land of her own in Midlothian, Texas, with the intent of rescuing more of them herself.
She meant to start slowly. Meche is why she didn't: an older brood mare she met years ago and never stopped thinking about, who needed buying out before anything else was ready.
Jennifer and one of the residents.
What Granlee Ranch is
Granlee Ranch is a small rescue on the blackland prairie south of Dallas. We buy horses out of bad situations, bring them here, and keep them.
The promise is the same for every one of them: love, food, water and freedom. Nothing is ever asked of them again — no riding, no breeding, no earning their keep.
How to help
Four ways, in the order they help most. The first one is the one that keeps hay in front of a horse every month without anybody having to ask again.
Sponsor a horseDouble someone else's gift
Pledge an amount each month and we match new sponsors dollar for dollar out of it until it runs out.
Help buy Meche out
Meche isn't home yet. The GoFundMe is the purchase price, and it's the one thing sponsorship can't cover.
Watch and share
Most people who end up here found us on TikTok. Sharing one video costs nothing and works.
Say hello
Hay, fencing, a trailer, an hour on a Saturday — if you have something to offer, write and say so.
