Meet Jennifer
Jennifer is a veteran who spent years working for nonprofit horse sanctuaries — other people's land, other people's horses, and the same long mornings of hay, water and hooves. Somewhere in those years the horses stopped being a job and became the point.
In January 2025 she brought her horses home to land of her own. The week she moved in, a stray horse turned up on the property on a freezing night. She blanketed it, fed it, had the vet out in the morning — and nearly half a million people watched her do it. That is the whole ranch in one evening: whoever turns up gets looked after.
Since then the herd has grown the way herds grow here, one horse at a time, each with a story nobody else wanted to hear. Star, who has been through more than any horse should and is amazing anyway. Bambi and Baby. Arya and Azabache, the two youngsters who arrived this year. And now Meche, the old brood mare Jennifer met years ago and never stopped thinking about.

What Granlee Ranch is
Granlee Ranch is a horse sanctuary on the blackland prairie south of Dallas, in Red Oak, Texas, forming as a Texas nonprofit corporation. We buy horses out of bad situations, bring them home, and keep them for the rest of their lives.
The promise is the same for every one of them: love, food, water and freedom. No riding, no breeding, no earning their keep. Just a pasture, a herd, and people who show up every morning.
